Sewage Treatment Plant Visit STP Indore
Sewage Treatment Plant Visit STP Indore The Students Of Skc-Lnct Group Were Taken On A Visit to the Initial Treatment, Inlet Chamber By The STP Plant Engineer MR.Pushparaj Chohan. The Wastewater Treatment Process Begins In The Inlet Chamber, Where The Raw Sewage Enters The Plant. During This Stage, Large Debris And Solid Particles Are Removed Through A Screening Process, Ensuring A Smooth Flow Of Wastewater Into The Plant. This Stp Plant In Indore Has 04 No Of Inlet Chambers.
The second visit by the STP plant engineer involved screening process in water treatment plants where screens with fine pores of less than 6 mm are used called fine screens. They are made of wire cloth, wedge wire or perforated plates. Like micro screens, they are screening devices used in wastewater treatment to remove fine solids. There are 08 fine screeners installed here.
The third visit by the Sewage Treatment Plant Visit STP Indore engineer was to the grit chambers which are narrow tanks designed to slow the flow so that solids such as sand, coffee grounds and eggshells settle out of the water. Grit causes excessive wear and tear on pumps and other plant equipment. Indore stp has 8 grit chambers.
The Parshall flume, as in this tank in Indore, is often used to measure the flow rate of wastewater in the grit chamber a sit enters the chamber. The flumeis an accurate and reliable flow measuring device widely used in wastewater treatment plants. There are 4 Parshall flumes.
There are 3 distribution boxes in the stp plant in Indore. Distribution-Box also known as a D-box, isa key component of a septic tank system that distributes wastewater from the septic tank to the leach field. The D-box's purpose is to evenly distribute the wastewater so that the leach field can absorb it properly.
Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR)
Sewage Treatment Plant Visit STP Indore has 12 SBR .Wastewater is pumped in to a tank that already contains biomass, where it consumes organic matter. The wastewater then settles and is decanted, and the process repeats.
Advantages
SBRs can achieve good removal of BOD and nutrients, and can perform equalization, primary clarification, biological treatment, and secondary clarification in a single reactor vessel. They also have a minimal footprint and can potentially save on capital costs. SBR-Process Was Visited By Students Of Skc-Lnct Group
There are 2 chlorination contact tanks in Sewage Treatment Plant Visit STP Indore . Chlorine Contact Tanks (CCT) are typically used with chlorine injection equipment in a well water system to help comply with strict drinking water standards. This process vessel is designed to achieve sufficient contact time between the injected chlorine and the water that needs disinfection.
Chlorination Room
There are 2 chlorination rooms in the stp plant in Indore. a chemical shelter designed to store and handle chlorine, a dangerous substance. Chlorination rooms must be well-ventilated and climate- controlled to ensure the safety of the workers and the equipment:
Ventilation
The room should have a fresh air inlet on the opposite side of the exhaust outlet. The ventilation system should be able to provide 60 air changes per hour when the room is occupied.
Temperature
The room should be kept at a temperature of 65–70°F (18–21°C).The room with the chlorinat or feed equipment should be kept 5–10°F higher.
Disposal
The room should have a chlorine gas disposal unit that can be activated automatically by a chlorine gas alarm system or manually from outside the room.
Sprinkler system
If the room has a sprinkler system, it should have enough spray nozzles in the ceiling and around the door.
Floor drainage
If the room has a sprinkler system, it should have adequate floor drainage with an odor trap.

There are 4 thickener in the stp plant in Indore. in water treatment is a device that increases the concentration of solids in sludge, while reducing the amount of free water. This process is called sludge thickening, and it's an important step in wastewater treatment for several reasons: Reduces water waste: Sludge thickening minimizes the amount of water that's wasted. Reuses Biosolids: Thickened sludge can be re-treated and safely returned to waterways.Lightens the load on downstream processes: Sludge thickening reduces the amount of work downstream processes, like sludge dewatering and digestion, have to do.Reduces the size of facilities and equipment: Sludge thickening allows for smaller facilities and equipment, which can lower operating costs. There are several different types of thickening processes, including: Gravity thickening: A process that uses gravity to settle the sludgeDissolved air flotation: A process that uses air bubbles to break up solids and make them float to the surface Rotary drum thickening: A thickening process that uses a rotary drum Centrifuge thickening: A thickening process that uses a centrifuge.
Centrifuge Feed Sump
Indore Stp plant has 4 centrifuge feed sumps and 2 centrifuge feed pumps Centrifuge Feed Sump pump is a type of pump that's used to transport fluids, such as slurries, by converting rotational energy into hydrodynamic energy:
The fluid enters the pump' simpeller, which accelerates it out ward in to a casing. The fluid then gains momentum and pressure as it moves through the casing, and is discharged from the pump through a discharge port. Uses Centrifugal pumps are often used for pumping water, sewage, agricultural products, petroleum, and petrochemicals. They're also used in metallurgy, mining, coal, electric power, building materials, and environmental protection.
